Protagonists of design
All Unopiù products are designed by qualified professionals from the Company’s Research and Development Department, or are signed by important designers who have collaborated with Unopiù over the years like Adam Tihany, Ferruccio Laviani, Meneghello Paolelli Associati, Michele Bönan, Paola Navone, Marco Acerbis, Matteo Thun, Andreucci & Hoisl, Carlo Martino, Studio Adolini, Marco Piv.
Materials.
Today the fusion between outdoor and indoor style is more and more evident, although the outdoor product must seek and use materials with unique characteristics for outdoor durability. Unopiù materials are always chosen for their incomparable quality of resistance to all weather conditions, even the most extreme, as well as for their craftsmanship, the refinement of their design and for their Italian creativity.
Unopiù furnishings are the fruit of over forty years’ experience that has always sought beauty and harmony among the wisest and most masterful artisans together with an innovative spirit which transmutes into avantgarde production techniques. In this way, unique products are created that are long lasting and keep their value over the years. In order to satisfy every aesthetic need the range goes from a more traditional style to the contemporary, from teak to metal, from synthetic fibre to cord, maintaining the quality of design, the excellence of the materials and the durability of the products unchanged.
Substainability.
Teak has always been the preferred material for the creation of outdoor furniture, thanks to its excellent robustness and resistance to weather conditions. Unopiù uses the best “A Grade” quality teak, fully respecting eco-sustainability procedures. Moreover, the top quality materials used, make Unopiù products a sustainable choice for long lasting furniture. Teak is probably the most eco-friendly material used in the outdoor furniture industry: it is not only recyclable but also truly renewable. Suffice to plant a seed and nature will see to the rest. Besides, while a teak tree grows it also converts the planet’s carbon dioxide into precious oxygen.
Unopiù purchases all its teak furniture in Indonesia, the nation that has the biggest and oldest certified teak plantation in the world. These plantations are the property of the Indonesian government and are the nation’s main source of employment. Teak is cultivated just like any other crop: harvesting and replanting are carried out in unison to guarantee that the plantations, initially established in the late 1800s, remain a source of renewable revenue for future generations.
Unopiu is on Treedom.
Environmental protection for the company doesn’t just begin with the use of teak wood from certified plantations, but from today also the creation of a UNOPIU' COCOA TREE FOREST in Cameroon, in collaboration with Treedom. Unopiù decided to join the Treedom project and create a Unopiù forest to give value and show respect for the environment with a concrete gesture, perfect scene for its products and the ideal setting to welcome them. The Unopiù forest in Cameroon is a small but solid contribution against CO2 emissions and a gesture in support of local microclimates.
Unopiù, through collaboration with Treedom in these agroforestry projects, contributes to 10 of the 17 objectives of sustainable development that the member nations of the United Nations have undertaken to accomplish by 2030. Participating in environmental protection is the responsibility of every individual and, today more than ever, we are required to make ethical choices that involve sustainability as much as possible, directing our attention.
